Katherine + Nick

Last year in March I was fortunately paired up in a room during WPPI with Jayme Morrisson of Jayme Morrisson Photography. As you might have seen on the blog we trekked all over Vegas and had some great talks as well as some truly amazing food (lol) During one of our talks after WPPI I had mentioned to Jayme that I’d really love to shoot with her. It’s always a privilege when another photographer lets you come along and glimpse into how they work. This past Friday I got my chance and assisted Jayme on Katherine and Nick’s wedding. At the end of the day, we sat in a local restaurant and gabbed over some food (big surprise :) and took a look at the images. I have to say I’ve always admired Jayme’s work – it is refined and definitely artistic, shooting with her gave me some insight as to how she gets those truly great shots and allowed me to step back and work on my candid shots. Next time she gets to come with me and I can’t wait! In the meantime here are some images from this weekends wedding. Nick and Katherine were an awesome couple and I have to say that Katherine’s dress was truly gorgeous!

Congratulations Katie!

So you might remember my lovely co-op student Katie – her photos had popped up a little at the end of last year as she came to help me out on some weddings. From the moment I looked at the first images from her camera – I knew she had raw talent. I cannot wait to see where this girl goes and am proud to say that she has now been accepted to Sheridan for photography! So as her birthday was this weekend and she got accepted I decided to get some of the ladies together and celebrate! Of course this meant bringing along our cameras and after dinner we headed out to a field (where else??) at sunset and we all took turns (yes even me) posing for the camera – Randi being our principle model :) Here’s a few photos check em out :)

It’s so hard to get a photo of Katie – she never wants to pose! I love this photo because of the fact she’s smiling and also because Randi is the one making her laugh!
