Brandie & Pat

This past weekend I shot a wedding for two very fun loving people – Brandie and Pat and their daughter Precious found us through a neighbour who had family photos done and let’s just say that from there it was history. The formal photos took place at Bryan’s parents house and the private location lended itself to fun, laughs, a few drinks for the boys and some truly great photos that really represent who they are. Thank you Brandie & Pat for sharing your day with Randi and myself and for sitting us at the best table ever :) (Yes Erin that was for you :)

Here are a few photos of the day …

Surprise! Today is your wedding day …. The story of Anna and Shaun

A few months back I was contacted on facebook by Amanda – her best friend was getting married and she was looking to secure a photographer. I thought it was a little weird that she contacted me but in any case I went ahead and started talking about quotes and options with her. Through our discussion I come to find out the reason that I haven’t spoken to the bride or groom is that the groom is planning the wedding as a surprise. I guess they got engaged and talked about not wanting a big fussy wedding so with the help of the maid of honour he arranged everything for a wedding in Niagara Falls behind her back. I know most of you brides would be freaking out at the idea of someone else planning everything but well Anna was the most relaxed bride I have ever seen. Their love was so beautiful and without the stress and tension that goes into a wedding day it was something you could almost reach out and touch. Here are a few photos from the day – Thanks Anna and Shaun for letting me be a part of your day.

Trash your Dress Sam :) – or not . . .

Trashing your dress after your wedding day has become a new phenomenon here in Canada but has been in the United States for a few years. The idea is that you are going to be with your husband forever and why pay so much money on a dress that you’ll never wear again? Although it is certainly a fun session and one that is definite to create some memorable photos – it is not for everyone nor for every dress. I take a bit of a different approach to it – so I call it mess the dress, which basically is a nicer version. It means you can go swimming and do all the crazy stuff if you want to but it’s more about doing something you love or going to a beautiful location and taking more photos – but on a day when you are more relaxed. So when talking to my assistant Samantha about this she shyly asked if I would take some of these photos of her and then said that she wouldn’t be any good but that it would be nice to get some more photos of her for her husband. Well Samantha is extremely humble and modest in my opinion because she was amazing and we got some really killer shots – take a look :)
