AMANDA
(Owner – Lead Photographer // Engagements, Weddings & Portraits)
Photography for me is such an emotional process – I shoot how I live life, mid laughter, mid tears and in the midst of the moment. I’m very sentimental but throw in a sarcastic and dry sense of humour and I’m definitely cracking enough jokes on the wedding day that if you’re seeing laughter in the photos – it’s probably someone laughing at me. I love photographing life and the moments in between but I love being a part of it as well. I love sleeping in, ridiculous reality TV, painting with oils, pretty purses that cost too much money, reading anything I can get my hands on, travelling, drinking tea at sunset, cuddling with my golden retriever and last but definitely not least, I love loving and being loved by my wonderful husband Bryan, and adorable son, Nate. I am the oldest of four which definitely helps me corral large groups and keep everything going on time on a wedding day. Life holds so many treasures and the photographs I want to take are the ones that tell the stories of our journeys in finding those treasures.
SAM
(Associate Photographer // Engagements & Weddings)
*squeak* Ok so I promise I’m not a mouse but I can be just as quiet as one – photography for me is less about direction and more about capturing what is in front of me. I like to hunt for the perfect moment, a different angle, and for the in between that helps paint a behind the scenes portrait of the day. I shoot as an associate photographer for Amanda – which means if Amanda is already booked then you can choose to book me or if you’d like you could just book me because you like me. Although, I am a quieter shooter I still love creating connections with my clients. Having a good working relationship is so important to the process so I love when a client hires me because of my style and personality – it makes the wedding day go so much smoother. A little about me – I love wine, chasing after my two kidlets, reading, listening to my honey play his guitar for me, and pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows - well not really the unicorns but crazy, weird Youtube videos that feature the random, funny stuff that makes up this life. I also love to laugh and have a pretty sarcastic sense of humour.
HEATHER
(Administrative Assistant – pretty much does everything)
Heather is such an awesome asset to our team – not only does she manage all the crazy details that we have to keep track of but if you are from Niagara she also probably knows you, or your parents, or one of your friends, or someone you went to school with, or something you work with. We call it the six degrees of Heather as there is so many times that through the booking process or during correspondence she figures out a way that she knows one of our couples. Heather is truly a member of the ALP family, she loves her kitty cats, her boy Jared, dancing, crafty stuff like sewing & baking, and did I mention dancing?
Samantha and I share several other assistants that we have worked with numerous times and are trained to work in a certain style that helps ensure consistency in quality of imagery from wedding to wedding.
